TRACK REVIEW: Dead Presidents pt. 3 || Versace || Winter Schemes

Jay-Z - Dead Presidents III (prod. by Guru)

When I put this on, it felt like 1996 all over again, my wordddddd. Reasonable Doubt Hov came back from circa 96' to bless us with that mafioso magic. This track is almost as good as the original DP. Guru made a classic beat, he took us back to that Golden Age of hiphop, first magic attribute of this track. Secondly, Hov, flow... SHIT! Again, if you listen to music and don;t just skim through it, you would be aware of the classic Hov debut album Reasonable Doubt. At that point in Jay-Z's career he was in the age of Nas Pac n Big, arguably the 3 greatest and Hov switched his fast spittin flow, to a more melow pace for that album, n made a perfect record. SAME HERE!!! Jay-z recently (refereing to WTT Hov) has been giving ur numerous new flow to match with an ever changing trend in beats, but for the 1st time in a while he just did him. It sounded effortless. Finally lyrics, no questioning the lyricism on this blockbuster of a track. "yesterday i was kneadin this dough, get it needin this dough" WHAT?!?! "Mirrors far behind me because i think to forward" WHAT?!?! Aite im done jizzin... 9.5/10

Migos ft. Drake - Versace (prod. Zaytroven) <---whoever the fuck that is

SMH... why Drake why?!? This beat is so anti-drake, the name of the instrumental should be Ekard (slow ppl wont get that). We let is slide with started from the bottom... but these trap beats aren't for you bruh, im sorry. Let alone one as annoying as this one. Drake does spit a decent verse here i must admit, apart from the standard lame struggle drake bars, he was good here, a great flow too... but this beat just fucked up. I guarantee you if drake spit this accapella and released it on itunes, it'll sell more than this bs. Let's not mention the hook... "Versace" x59  ro sum very excessive number. smh repetitive and just so intolerable. This song on the whole was a harrd listen, i listened to it 10 times btw. Then Quavo (a guy from the group and who did the hook) spits the next verse. VERY mediocre but i must admit went his real voice came out, i kina was feelin it. Sorta like Juicy J. Takeoff and Offset came and spit some struggle bars as well, on their 2 respective. Im unaware of the purpose of this song, but by trap music standards even, i cannot reall get wit this, i can;t say it is good, apart from Drake's verse... mehh. 3.5-4/10 Gimmie some Jeezy, 2 Chainz, TJ, Keef, KRIT etc...

J. Cole ft. Wale - Winter Schemes (prod. Jake One)

This track is fireeeeeee. Two up and coming rappers, on the heels of their respective albums, show us why the torch bearers need not worry, hiphop is in safe hands. Cole starts the track off raw af! I was impressed with his passion and flow, very "Warm Up" like, classic Cole. Den boom, he actually says Warm Up 2 on the way!!! Cole fans surely picked up on dat n gon be checkin online erryday for that. His honesty about tha Buggatti in Beyonce's video kina feshh too and funny. Colle has a way of using really simple words soo effectively when he rhymes... very much like Yeezi. When WALE comes in tho *nuclear bomb explosion* WTF, dis is that More About Nothing/Gifted Wale...more mature but still fuckin hard no assss. Wale got so much lyrical ability dat most neverrrr see it. His double entendres and metphors go fuckin harddd sumtimes. This man said "I pour up with bitches, my parking lot's effecient... i play with foreigns boy, i feel like im Kuard Leonard" WHAT?!?!? if u aint get that then i dont expect u to like this song or Wale for that matter. Wale kina killed Cole on thsi one tho. Great beat by Jake One too! 8.5/10
